About
Hi there! I am Tobias Fors. I work with helping leaders in software-intensive organizations figure out how to lead and deliver better, in their specific context. I educate and consult through my company Holifant. I work with both public sector organizations and product companies.
My focus is on the practical side of leading in complexity. I want to help people close the gap between what they know they should do and what actually happens in practice. That means workshops, training, facilitation, and coaching — tailored to each client’s specific situation.
I’ve been doing this since 1999, in roles ranging from programmer and analyst to project manager and consultant. Early on, I got deep into agile and lean software development — I was introduced to Scrum by Ken Schwaber in 2003 and have spent many years training Scrum practitioners. I was one of the first Certified Scrum Trainers back in 2006, but left that position as of 2026.
I sometimes describe my role, only half-jokingly, as “full stack management consultant.” That label still captures something true: I care about the whole system, from strategy to the daily work in teams.
From 2000 to 2018, I was one of the partners of Citerus AB, a consultancy focused on both the human and technical sides of software development. In 2018 I founded Holifant.
These days I’m less focused on specific frameworks and more on what actually makes software organizations work well — the leadership, the focus, and the small adaptive moves that lead to real improvement.
I also do public speaking from time to time.
This blog is mostly inactive, but I like to keep it around. The web is a Good Thing, still.
